My requirements for a watch are a perpetual calendar and durability. I DON'T want stopwatch/alarm functions and the resulting pushbuttons. Buttons just gum up, and the functions just frustrate you when they activate accidentally and you can't remember how to shut them off. This is one of the few watches that meet those requirements.

My first impression is that it's more substantial than the specs and pictures indicate. My previous watches were Timex Perpetuals - an Expedition style and a basic round face. By the numbers, this is only about 5 - 10% bigger than those. But it looks more like 10 - 20% when you put them side by side. The weight on this is a hefty 5.1 ounces, vs 2.4 ounces on the leather strap Expedition and 3.4 on the basic round with metal bracelet.
I selected this model in part because the bracelet looked very sturdy. It does not disappoint with all solid links - no wrapped sheet steel. I tend to kink cheaper bracelets. Despite the size and heft of the watch overall, I was surprised at how short the bracelet was. I only removed one link. If your wrist measures 8" or more in circumference, you may find this too tight. For reference, I used the center hole on the Expedition leather strap so my wrist is probably average.
I've only used it for one day, but overall I'm satisfied. The solid design and construction of the bracelet helps it stay well placed on my wrist. As another review noted, the date window is a bit small. But, even with bifocals I can read it in average light. I knocked off one star for that and because I'm sure they could have trimmed at least an ounce of weight. My dream watch would be a 90% scale of this in titanium.
