(More customer reviews)I was heartbroken when my trusty old Seiko gave out last month after owning it over 10 years and I didn't think it would be worth spending $75.00 to have the works replaced especially when I only payed $150.00 for it when I got it about 11 years ago. So I started shopping for a new watch.
I'm pretty picky about the timepieces I wear. I like them simple, functional and elegant. The thing that drew me to this watch was I liked the two tone coloring and smooth details. I usually don't like square watches or ones with sharp lines. So I bought this watch.
I was a bit skeptical about the Eco-Drive self-recharging feature but since the technology is about 14 years old now, I thought all the bugs would have been worked out.
The watch keeps excellent time and is easy to set, etc. Since it was new and the watch had been in the dark for about a week while in the mail, I have been putting it on my desk with a flourescent (swirly bulbed) light on so it would recharge from any lost charge while in the packaging, however; the watch was running when I got it.
I did have to have a jeweler take a couple of links out of the band to fit my wrist but that was only $10.00 at Kay Jewelers.
I usually like a white face but I didn't like the styles of the white-faced watches in the Citizen brand offered here so I decided the gray would be just fine and I've gotten used to in a very short period of time.
I thought this watch was an excellent bargain and from what I read the rechargeable power-cell should last 40 years. Since I'm 47, that will probably be the rest of my life. We'll see. I'm usually happy if a watch lasts 10 years. For a $200.00 watch, if you get 10 years out of it, I feel you get your monies worth.
